Unwilling to marry Lord Bloodworth, the wealthy landowner her father has chosen for her, Bryony flees her home in the middle of a storm and takes refuge in what she thinks is an abandoned house made of stone. What she believed was a refuge becomes her prison when she wakes in the morning and discovers neither the doors nor the windows will open.

Her fears rise when she meets the strange man who appears always by night. He has remarkable powers that she attributes to witchcraft, only to learn to her horror that not only is Stefan a witch but a vampire, as well. Though he refuses to release her, he treats her kindly, providing her with books and paints and anything else she desires -- except her freedom. As the weeks pass, Bryony's fear and revulsion turns to trust and she discovers a kindred spirit in the man who holds her fate in his hands.

As the love between Stefan and Bryony grows, he decides he wants her to stay with him of her own free will and sends her home to decide her own fate. To her horror, Bryony discovers that her father is a vampire hunter, determined to see Stefan dead, and equally determined to see her wed to Lord Bloodworth. As Bryony realizes the depths of her love for Stefan, she prays that she will find a way to save the life of the man who has stolen her heart and save herself from the loveless marriage her father has arranged for her.

THE LATEST NEWS ~

If things work out, I'm one step closer to getting Twilight Longings published in paperback. With luck, it might be available before the year is out!!! Keep your fingers --- and toes --- crossed <G>

Way back in 2003 and 2004 I wrote 2 short stories - DARKFEST and BORN OF THE NIGHT, for two different anthologies (Midnight Pleasures and Stroke of Midnight). I've decided to publish the two of them together as an eBook titled TWO BY MOONLIGHT. Not sure of the pub date.

I can't believe it! Amazon actually published AWAYS BY NIGHT on the date they said they would! It's a Christmas miracle! Sadly, my publisher is no longer publishing print editions. If I can get the print rights, I may publish it myself somewhere down the road because I know some of my fans don't like ebook. I'm not crazy about them either.

I finished the first draft of my new Saintcrow story. It didn't end as I expected and the book is now in two parts. The tentative title is TWILIGHT TEMPTATIONS. I'm pretty happy with it. You can read Chapter 1 by clicking on the IN THE WORKS link at the top of the page.

For Baker fans, I finished my historical western! Honestly, I can't believe it's done. I think it took me two months to write it. Who knows how long it will take to get it published. As I mentioned before, it's currently titled UNDER WESTERN SKIES. Of course, it's not yet carved in stone <G> My last three westerns have carried the hero's name as the title - ZANE, BOHANNON, and KADE. My current hero's name is Reese. Decisions, decisions.

I can't believe Christmas is just around the corner. Seems like it comes faster every year. And I have so many presents to buy, I don't even want to think about it!
